Porto has excellent flight connections to a number of major European cities and destinations, with direct flights to major international hubs including London, Brussels, Madrid, Frankfurt and Toronto. The Francisco de Sá Carneiro Airport is also served by a handful of budget airlines. Situated around 16 km northwest of the city centre, the airport is very well connected to the city centre by public transport (bus, metro, shuttle and taxi), and getting to the city centre is not difficult; in peak-traffic time however, allow an hour or more between the city centre and the airport.

Although there is no central bus station in Porto, the city is served with both national and international links with other cities.

One may arrive to Porto by train at either the São Bento or Campanhã stations. More information about domestic and international rail links may be found at the Comboios do Portugal website.
